Effective January 1, 2019, JEFFNET will merge into Ashland Home Net and Ashland Home Net will provide all technical support and customer care and billing support for JEFFNET customers.
JEFFNET(Jeffnet.org) is the internet service launched in 1995 by the Jefferson Public Radio Foundation.
Ashland Home Net(AshlandHome.Net), is the Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Ashland that is locally owned and operated by husband and wife team, Jim Teece and Dena Matthews.
JEFFNET customers will only need to change where their payments are made if they pay by check via the mail.
“We will work hard to make this transition as seamless as possible for JEFFNET customers”, states Dena Matthews, CFO and Co-Owner of Ashland Home Net, “All email addresses, settings and online payment options will stay the same and there are no planned changes in rates for service.”
“All JEFFNET accounts will continue to directly support Jefferson Public Radio, just as it has since it launched.”, states Paul Westhelle, Executive Director of Jefferson Public Radio.
“We volunteered to help launch JEFFNET back in 1995 via Ashland Home Net’s sister company, Project A (ProjectA.com), and we are thrilled to merge JEFFNET into Ashland Home Net and have it be a major part of our companies future”, says, Jim Teece, President & CEO and Co-Owner of Ashland Home Net. “The first part of the agreement provides Ashland based support and customer care for JEFFNET customers and the second part of the agreement provides a roadmap for rolling out our rural wireless internet service (RogueBroadband.com) via the communities that JPR serves.”
