Mac Mail before OS X 10.9
Important!!
These settings only apply to email addresses hosted by Ashland Home Net. If you use a web-based mail service (Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc.) you will need to obtain the proper settings from them.
Mac Mail Settings
These screenshots are from Mac Mail , included with OS 10.7 Lion.
If you are using a previous version, it should be similar, but some screens might not look exactly the same.
Step 1
- In Mail, click the Mail menu at the top, and select Preferences.
Step 2
- Click Accounts then Click the + in the lower-left corner.
Step 3
- Fill in the boxes with your name and email address.
- The password is the password you gave us when we created the account.
- Click Continue

Step 4
- The server type will be IMAP.
- Fill in the information for your incoming server.The server is going to be your last part of your email address (called the domain) but instead of you email@domain.net or .com it will be mail.domain.net or .com See the list below for some examples
Note* For @opendoor.com, and custom domains previously hosted by Open Door Networks, the incoming server is mailx.opendoor.com.

- Description would be the name you want to give you inbox.
- Fill in the information for your outgoing server.

Make sure everything looks correct.
- Click Create
Click the red dot in the upper-left to close the Mail Preferences.
